Old Punks Die Hard is in HamLit!

The Summer Solstice theme is “Life Expectancy,” and Sam doesn’t have much of one. Trigger warning: death in all the ways, blood, guts, all kinds of stuff. Obscenity, leather, cigarettes, bad coffee, worse beer.

Old Punks Die Hard

Also, the reading at Village Books last night happened, Coney and Oz got hitched, and my friend Joe Donley read from “The Final Away Game” that was published in Aah! That’s What I Call Horror (a 90s horror anthology). But I think all the readings were eclipsed by the “piss condom” piece by a local writer who is obviously insanely talented. I always feel for these people since I want to see them succeed, I know how sensitive they are, and I know how hard the struggles can be. Let us all support one another in any way that we can, creatives. Even if it’s just buying somebody else a cup of coffee or reading their story and giving them feedback. Let us promote a community of support. I feel like we have that here in Bellingham, and HamLit is one of the extensions of that.

My next reading might be at Whatcom Writers and Publishers tomorrow night, June 27, at 5:30 pm at Bob’s Burgers, the Barkley Bob’s in Barkley Village. I could read from “Old Punks Die Hard” and hopefully that won’t cause any mayhem. Okay, enough with this. I’m outta here! Stay dry!
