Spirit Gods III launches NOW

I got the feeling, after trying repeatedly to finish this book this year, that it might have a curse on it. I started the book in 2015, broke off to do The Half-Ghosts series, and only got back to working on it this July. I finished the text and got the beta reading done. Then I got a very intense temporary job and again had to put Gods aside. Only now, in October, have I been able to complete all the finishing touches.

It is the last book I have to release that deals with Heather and Emmett as major characters, which makes me a bit wistful. I have two more in the same ‘verse yet unreleased, but Heather and Emmett are only side characters (although very charming ones).

I could put off releasing it and perfect Gods a bit more, but we’re not living in that kind of world. In the words of the Van Halen song, “Dreams”,

” ‘Cause we belong in a world that must be strong, oh, that’s what dreams are made of.”

So my particular way to be strong is to keep showing up, put this book out, curses notwithstanding, and keep moving forward.

People seem to be falling apart around me mentally and emotionally, and sometimes I feel like the One Sane Woman in the middle of it all.

It’s a bit distressing, but if we’re going down, I want to go down knowing I did make an effort to be seen. That’s why I put the books out and go to the readings and post the stuff. It really shouldn’t make any difference if the world ends tomorrow, as long as we’re living our best, most present selves today.
