My story “Smells like Ghost Litigation” will appear in Writer’s Corner Anthology

I live less than a mile from Village Books in Fairhaven, Washington, and this is where the Writer’s Corner Anthology reading will be held this December. My friendly neighborhood David Beaumier, the editor-in-chief for the anthology, says “the event for the anthology has started at 4pm PST on a Saturday or Sunday with an hour for poetry and prompts and an hour for fiction and non-fiction.” Our friendly neighborhood J.W. Donley of Dark Forest Press & Publishing Services has done the formatting and cover design (and also designed some of my new covers for my Half-Ghosts series that I will be relaunching soon). Since I can walk to the event and I have good boots and a good coat, I imagine I’ll be attending.

I’d like to think of this publication as a beginning of my return to a more active publication schedule. The year 2020 went fairly well, but 2021 is when the rubber hit the road. However, I have not stopped writing (or editing), and I have some exciting work written and squirreled away that I hope to get out in the world now that things have improved.

The story in the anthology is called “Smells like Ghost Litigation” and it is a quirky ghost story about what happens when a former perfume nose runs amok of a hoarder ghost and a migrant worker in the grasslands of the Midwest. In short, the ghost is suing the distant relative who took over his former home. Hijinks ensue.

Beyond this, I have so many books and stories that have not yet hit the cold, hard light of day, but I’m gearing up for an exciting 2023, so let this be the beginning of it.

Cheers! I will post when I know more about the Writer’s Corner Anthology event.
